Minority Report

(Redirect Notice, n.d.)

" Minority Report", a film by Steven Spielberg made in 2002, is a neo-noir science fiction that narrates Philip K. Dick's short work. Science fiction movies will be set in the future, where an organisation prevents crimes before they occur by arresting individuals whose pre-cogs — three psychics — predict will commit a crime shortly. The action takes place in a future world where a police department called Pre-crime can prevent and arrest criminals solely based on visions of the future provided by three psychic entities called 'pre-cogs.' The movie raises questions of predestination and freedom.

The story's plot unfolds in one of the most important cities in the United States – Washington D. C., in 2054. The movie's protagonist is John Anderton, played by Tom Cruise, the chief of pre-crime and involves three pre-cog mutants who can predict crimes before they happen. Pre-cogs create scenarios of upcoming killings; Pre-crime officers base themselves on these created scenarios and proceed to arrest future killers.

Anderton is a firm believer in the system right until the time he becomes the suspect of pre-crime murder. The pre-cogs are now stating that another crime he is to commit is the murder of a man named Leo Crow, a person whom Anderton does not know of. Anderton then starts running to chase his demons away and learns the truth behind the prediction of his death. On his journey, he gets acquainted with cop Tobey (Colin Farrell) and the three pre-cog sisters Dash, a man called Arthur (Mark Boon), and Agatha (Samantha Morton), the brightest of them, and Dr. Iris Hineman (Lois Smith), the inventor of the Pre-crime system.

Visual Effects and Innovations

1. Previsualization Technology:

Technique: It introduces a new breed of technology known as previsualization and offers Anderton some control over altering the holographic memories of the murderers. In Sorak, this technology was achieved through Digital cinematography and the use of Computer computer-generated imagery and animatics and action practical effects CGI.

Impact: In terms of the dystopian approach, which is typical for cyberpunk films, this element has been implemented in the movie through using the 'data glove", which has been used by Anderton to interact with the holographic models created by Blomkamp Present day, these elements are used in designing interfaces.

2. Automated Systems and Cityscape:

Technique: Spielberg talked about intelligent technology, artificial intelligence already being incorporated into cars, and automobiles capable of driving themselves. This one gets different commercials according to the individual's requirements. They had to film in an artificial city; as a result, a lot had to be done to integrate the computer work and the set.

Impact: The portrayal of incorporation was in perfect unison with the concept, and this made the film near perfect in real-world terms in terms of the futuristic theme and setting of the entire movie as anything else and thus impacted the portrayal of the future cities in other films.

3. Dynamic Action Sequences

Technique: It, however, addresses them inadequately and passionately for an original and creative idea: The maglev car chase scene and the subsequent scenes where the characters begin using the jetpacks. Precisely because such sequences as fights might imply, these scenes engaged stunt doubles. In addition, all the action scenes employed CGA to give them that twist of style and a personality that few other movies could claim.

Impact: Such action sequences enhance the general effect of the suspense and thrilling scenes, which, nevertheless, the movie contained; therefore, I concur with the existence of future technology on the big screen
